Who are covered under DSWD Registration, Licensing and Accreditation?
All Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs) are covered under the Registration/ Registration and Licensing and Accreditation, subject to the following:
Registration only covers private Auxiliary SWDA which provides supportive activities in the delivery of social welfare and development programs and services to the disadvantaged sector/s. These may include the following:
- People’s Organizations;
- Resource Agencies; and
- SWD Networks.
Registration and licensing applies to private Social Welfare Agencies (SWAs), including Resource Agencies providing direct services, which employs social worker/s and/or community development worker/s and other paraprofessionals that directly provide remedial, preventive and developmental programs and services to individuals, families, groups and/or communities as well as those agencies providing direct services engaged in social welfare and development activities.
Accreditation applies to all licensed SWAs and Resource Agencies providing direct services, DSWD, Local Government Units (LGUs) and other National Government Agencies (NGAs) implementing social welfare and development programs and services.
